The Contemporary Poetics Research Centre at Birkbeck College, and the Centre for Modern Poetry at the University of Kent are delighted to present a mini extravaganza of performances and visual works by poets from across the UK, Europe, and North and South America. The festival means to spotlight a variety of lively and radical work by both upcoming and established poets, representing a variety of international social and cultural backgrounds. Small press books will be available for sale, while entry, some refreshments, and discussion and debate are all free!
On Thursday 15th May, the festival begins with a special edition of Xing the Line at the Apple Tree in Mount Pleasant at 7:30pm. Readings and an exhibition of visual works take place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th at Birkbeck College’s Main Building, running from 12-9pm on both days. Readings are in Room B34, while the exhibition takes place upstairs in Rooms 253-255.
A full programme can viewed and downloaded at the Birkbeck Events page as well as at this site.
